The Balay-Lakoy Center was established in 1989 as the research, documentation, and information arm of the TUGDAAN Mangyan Center for Learning and Development. It has been envisioned by the Mangyan- Alangan elders as the heart of the TUGDAAN programs.
The Center’s collection includes articles and write-ups of Mangyan -Alangan culture, books and manuscripts, sound recordings, and artifacts. It has an exhibition facility which features the traditional Mangyan-Alangan house architectural design. It also has a performance space for culture presentations and assemblies.
